The problem with Chloe's mother is that she's also VERY controlling. Asking, "Has she called you since you left Dance Mothers" was such a sharp comment that didn't have to be made. Friendship is a two-way street. The question should have been, "Have you tried to contact her since you left Dance Moms?" If Chloe wants the friendship, she makes the call. If Maddie responds, then she also wants the friendship. If she ignores her calls, then that's the answer. She doesn't want the friendship. Of course, you can tell Maddie the same thing, but this interview was focused on Chloe. For all we know these mothers - both of whom are beyond intense - made their relationship weird. Neither Chloe nor Maddie feel comfortable just being friends because their mothers are so extra.
